Post Technology On Giant Earth Map Advances Too Fast
It may just be me, but I don't think, because I have played two games on this scenario; once as the Inca and now currently as Japan, and players advance too fast. I know advancing technology isn't an inflexible part of history, but with the limited tech tree and real game ending in the 21st Century, that leaves a lot of time where nothing exciting happens, and rules out a lot of interesting action with all sorts of units.

My theory is that the rate of Technology transfer was determined by looking at a standard randomized scenario, where there aren't that many starting civilizations. Here, where there are loads, things presumably go much faster.

So any thoughts on this? How to fix it?

No way currently. We are aware of this issue; it doesn't really affect gameplay in any way.
